Faleyeβs strike sinks Libya at the African Nations Championship.
Nigeria got their first win of the 2018 African Nations Championship after they defeated Libya 1-0 on Friday evening which was well deserved.
After recording a very frustrating 0-0 draw in their Group C opener against Rwanda on Monday in which they struck the post three times, Sunday Faleyeβs strike in the 79th minute ensured that the Eagles claimed their first maximum points of the competition.
The first 45 minutes at Grand Stage de Tanger was a drab affair. Nigeriaβs forward play lacked any sharpness or posed any team threat in front of goal while Libya offered next to nothing despite winning myriad of set pieces in dangerous positions.
In the 79th minute, the Eagles then got the match’s winning goal via Faleye. Osas Okoroβs corner kick into a crowded area fell graciously for the young forward who made no mistake as he fired past Mohamed Nashnush.
