Health care in the country might still be left to suffer for a long time to come as the Federal Government has revealed that it lacks adequate funds to upgrade health facilities across the country.
The Minister of State for Health, Dr Ehanire Osagie made the disclosusure yesterday, while commissioning projects initiated and executed by the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi, Nasarawa State.
Dr. Osagie said although the Federal government is committed to giving the necessary attention required to the health sector, it was constrained due to lack of funds.
“The federal government of President Muhammad Buhari is doing its best and want to upgrade health facilities across the country but funds are not enough,” he said. He said the government was doing its best to end medical tourism by increasing the confidence of Nigerians in the country’s health care sector.
