President Muhammadu Buhari has stated his resolve to rescue the only remaining Dachi school girl, Leah Sharibu who is still in Boko Haram captivity saying the sect cannot impose its religion on anybody.

It would be recalled that after the release of 104 of the school girls earlier this week, reports had it that one of the girls Miss Sharibu was held back by the terrorists for refusing to denounce her religion, she is a Christian.

Presidential aide Garba Shehu while speaking to journalists Thursday night said the Buhari administration recognizes the freedom of religion as such it would not relent in efforts to bring Leah Sharibu safely back home to her parents as it has done for the other girls.

“To this effect, no one or group can impose its religion on another,” the president said, emphasising that “the lone Dapchi girl, Leah, will not be abandoned,” the statement said.

The president also according to the statement said he was conscious and mindful that Islam was not a religion of compulsion.
