Polish superstar, Robert Lewandowski has no regrets after failing to secure a move away from Bayern Munich this summer after forcefully pushing for it and is feeling good in the Bavarian capital
Robert Lewandowski couldn’t keep his name out of the headlines this past summer and it was evident he was unhappy with the club or probably wanted a new challenge, as he and his agent Pini Zahavi reportedly pushed for a transfer out of Bayern Munich with a lot of clubs on the side lines waiting to see the outcome. The club ultimately stood firm in their decision and decided it wasn’t worth letting their star striker leave and didn’t entertain offers for their talismanic striker. Club higher-ups Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge were eager to show that the club is bigger than the player.
Although Lewandowski hasn’t had the best start to the new season, though he remains Bayern’s top scorer. He has been an isolated figure up top, largely starved of touches or many goal-scoring opportunities largely due to the new managers tactics.
It seems like Bayern’s plan to keep hold of their striker against his wishes might backfire. Lewandowski has assured the fans that he is very happy with life at Bayern, though. The Polish striker told Sport Bild that the team’s success is his priority, not individual accolades.
He said:
“I definitely feel very happy and well in Munich.
“I do my best for the team to win. But it’s still about the team, because everyone works hard for success here. It’s not just me, not just Robert Lewandowski.”
