A large group of gunmen stormed Efab Queens Estate in the Federal Capital Territory’s Gwarinpa Federal Housing area yesterday (FCT). At around 3 a.m., the assailants broke into the estate’s back end and went straight for the unnamed male politician’s apartment.
According to reports, his younger brother was injured, and household items such as plasma TV sets, iPads, and phones were carted away. This is the third time a politician’s home has been attacked.
According to a source, when a police officer on the estate was asked to engage the robbers, he refused, instead, he fired a shot into the air. When the robbers took off, other officers joined the pursuit.
Police spokesperson Josephine Adeh said nobody was kidnapped in the estate, adding that reports of bandits’ attacks were false. She said when operatives of the Command arrived at the estate, the robbers took to their heels, whereupon “gallant operatives gave them a chase which led to their abandoning some items they had stolen including some phones and laptops.
