Rachel Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex who happens to be an American member of the British Royal Family and a former actress. She is married to the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who is the younger son of King Charles III.
She has made a shocking revelation to everyone revealing her heritage that she is 43% Nigerian. She made this known in her latest Podcast known as, Archetypes. Meghan started Archetypes in 2020 and debuted the first episode on the 29th of December.
Meghan Markle was born and raised in Canoga Park, Los Angeles, Carlifornia. Her family has always been known to be of a German descent making her latest revelation about being partly Nigerian a huge revelation to everyone. The Duchess has emphasized on and also mentioned her interest in discovering more about her roots.
In a discussion with Professor Emily Bernards, American actress Issa Rae and Writer Zime Fumudoh in her podcast episode; she talked about how she did a genealogy test that revealed she is 43% Nigerian.
‘I’m 43% Nigerian,’ she said, to the surprise of her guests after they asked her for details, which made Ziwe reply with, ‘No way! Are you Serious?’ asking her if she was igbo or yoruba.
‘I’m going to start to dig deeper into all of this because anyone that I’ve told, especially Nigerian women, are just like, what?’, responded The Duchess of Sussex. This podcast episode was the first ever where Meghan Markle has opened up about and told the public about her ancestral background.
