Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC) has reiterated its resolve to ensure comprehensive safety standard across workplaces.
The Director General, Mr. Lanre Mojola, speaking at an environmental and safety seminar organised in collaboration with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Apapa branch, with the theme: ‘Seamless Environmental Regulations in Lagos State’, said the forum was an interesting engagement where the manufactures and government regulatory agencies were charting a course towards ensuring accident reduction at workplaces.
He said safety was a concerted effort, adding that everyone must imbibe the spirit of safety and take responsibility of ensuring that the environment was well protected from hazards.
“Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Don’t turn blind eyes, abate that nuisance because it can even cause an accident that can even lead to a fatality,” Mojola said.
The Chairman Apapa branch, MAN, Mr. Frank Onyebu, challenged regulatory agencies to ensure an enabling environment was created to allow businesses to thrive.
Speaking about the activities of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and expectations of the agency from the association, LAWMA General Manager Ibrahim Odumboni enlightened participants on how to dispose of their waste and measures put in place to regulate waste disposal in the state.
