The Forbes family has announced that they will proceed with the release of AKA’s highly anticipated album, ‘Mass Country’, as scheduled on February 24, to honour the late artist and keep his legacy alive.
The announcement was made on AKA’s official Instagram page on Thursday.
In addition, ‘Company’, a track from the album, will be released on February 17, featuring long-time collaborator and friend Kiddominant.
The statement revealed that the single was recorded during the late singer’s holiday in Los Angeles in January.
Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, had been eagerly counting down to the release of his album before he was tragically shot dead in Durban last Friday.
The album follows the success of his hit single ‘Lemons (Lemonade)’, which has currently amassed 1.2 million views on YouTube.
The release of Mass Country will be overseen by AKA’s team, which includes VTH Season, The T Effect, and Sony Music Entertainment Africa.
AKA’s family explained that the late artist had dedicated the past two years to creating this album, pouring his heart and soul into every aspect of the production.
AKA first announced the album’s release on January 10, 2023, via Instagram, with a post of the artwork, captioned with the album title and release date.
Fans around the world eagerly anticipate the release of this highly anticipated album, which will undoubtedly be a testament to AKA’s talent and legacy.
