The Presidential Election Petition Court has been urged by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to vary the orders granted to Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar giving them permission to inspect materials used during the presidential election.
The result announced by the electoral is being contested by the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidates.
Following two separate ex parte applications filed by Obi and Atiku, the court granted them permission to inspect INEC materials used in the election in their quest to seek redress.
Latest reports indicate that the electoral body, in a motion on notice filed on March 4, wants the court to vary the order which restrained it from tampering with materials used for the election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that INEC is the sole party in the application of the electoral umpire filed at the court.
On Monday, Atiku led his party members in a demonstration at INEC headquarters to express his dissatisfaction with the election results and his determination to ensure that he is still in the fight against the electoral body.
