In the Damaga District of the Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, gunmen who are thought to be terrorists have abducted 23 ladies.
Malam Ahmed Mohammed, a local, revealed this in a phone interview with the Daily Post on Thursday night.
When the victims went to the bush to look for firewood on Wednesday at around 12:00 p.m., he claims the occurrence took place.
“The victims were mainly teenage girls and widows but the terrorists set free the children among them.
Twenty-three of them are currently being held captive as I speak to you, he continued.
Additionally, the bandits attacked Talata Madara town, the administrative center of Talata Madara Local Government Area in Zamfara State, and kidnapped ten Triacta employees who worked for a road construction business.
Malam Abdulrahman Yusuf, a local, revealed that the thugs entered the town on Wednesday at around 11:00 p.m. and started firing randomly.
They immediately went to the home of Hon. Kabiru Classic, a former representative for Talata Madara and Anka in the House of Representatives, he said.
“The bandits were successfully chased out by the military after spending one and a half hours operating in the town,” he said.
However, efforts to get response from the State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Yazeed Abubakar proved unsuccessful as all his telephone lines were not reachable.
