The former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has received the support of the entire Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The party provided the support while denouncing some influential politicians who are accused of paying them to disparage Wike’s appointment.

The PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is leading discussions on how to deal with “a patriot and prominent nationalist whose interest it is to protect the unity and stability of our dear country,” according to a statement from the party by former Rivers PDP Campaign Organization spokesman, Ogbonna Nwuke.

They said the decision by President Bola Tinubu to nominate men and women with proven track records, including Wike, to serve the nation, “is being hailed by progressive-minded Nigerians as a masterstroke in ongoing efforts to reclaim their country.”
