Ajay Banga, the president of the World Bank, will spend three days in Nigeria as part of a global tour to create a new playbook for the organization.
While in the nation, Banga will meet with President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
As per the World Bank, Banga’s primary focus in Nigeria will be on addressing the issues of energy demand and renewable energy, providing employment opportunities for women and youth, and exploring future opportunities related to digitization.
The global bank also revealed that Banga will visit a World Bank-financed solar-powered mini-grid plant benefiting a community and a female-owned business that has created over 1,500 jobs for young Nigerians.
The visit will also involve discussions with representatives from the private sector and civil society. Bangaβs visit follows a two-day trip to Ethiopia, and he will be accompanied by his wife Ritu Banga.
