Teni, a singer from Nigeria whose real name is Teniola Apata, has been selected as August’s EQUAL artist on Spotify.
Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, who made the news in a press release on Monday in Lagos, noted that the diva has grown to be one of the continent’s most sought-after stars.
Okumu revealed that the honor is a result of Spotify’s continuous dedication to advancing equality and diversity in the music business and recognizing deserving female artists from a variety of backgrounds.
“We are thrilled to have Teni serve as the August ambassador for the EQUAL Africa initiative.

Speaking further, Okumu said as an EQUAL Africa artiste, Teni will be featured prominently on the Spotify platform.
According to her, the above would offer her fans and music enthusiasts across the globe the opportunity to delve into her rich musical catalogue, gaining a deeper appreciation for her exceptional talent and contributions to the music industry.
