Godswill Akpabio, president of the Senate, is still facing criticism for recently disclosing the holiday allowances that were given to him and his colleagues.
Sen. Ali Ndume of Borno South said in response to the viral video scandal that he had warned Akpabio over his remark.
Senators did earn N2 million each, according to Ndume, who spoke with the BBC Hausa Service. He also said that the senate president’s remarks were inappropriate for an elder.
According to him, drastic action may be taken against Akpabio should he continue making unguarded statements.
“All senators received N2 million. And I am making this comment with a heavy heart because he (Akpabio) is the cause of this controversy.
“He made a very wrong statement, and I warned him immediately that his comments were unbecoming of an elder.
“In fact, we are even planning to take drastic action against him if he continues making unguarded statements and acting as if we are kids”, he said.
