Michael Owen, a former player for Liverpool and Newcastle United, responded to Chelsea’s match with Liverpool and offered his thoughts on Enzo Fernandez’s performance against the Reds. Owen posted a message on his Twitter page.
Decent game this. Both teams had their moments. Enzo Fernandez is putting on an exhibition. If Caicedo joins him at Chelsea, that’ll be the best midfield pairing in The Premier League”
“He’s brilliant as a 6 but he’s got so much more to his game. Pochettino pushing him further forward is a master stroke.”
Chelsea’s Premier League opener against Jurgen Klopp’s side ended in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. Luiz Diaz put the visitors in front in the 18th minutes, assisted by Mohamed Salah and in the 37th minutes, Axel Disasi pulled the Blues level.
In the second half, Mauricio Pochettino’s side dominated possession, but they failed to find the back of the net and had to settle for a draw in his first Premier League game in charge of Chelsea. After the game ended, Enzo Fernandez was named the man of the match.
