A train from Kano to Lagos crashed in a forest in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara state, leaving passengers stranded. According to reports, the event left many passengers stranded, including women and children, who had to walk a considerable distance to reach automobiles.

The Kwara state administration is being urged to supply supplies to the stranded passengers and devise a plan to extract them from the forest.

Facebook user Anthony Odoh shared the sad news online. Below is what he wrote;

Our train heading to Kano from Lagos derailed today in a forest after Ilorin. A lot of people especially women and children are stranded. We managed to walk for a long distance to have access to vehicles. Kwara State Government should send relief materials to the women and children and find means of bringing them out of the forest.

Pray for us.
