To increase wheat output, the Nigerian government has obtained a $163 million loan from the African Development Bank.
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, reportedly made this announcement in Argungu, Kebbi State, while paying a condolence visit to the Argungu Emirate, the state government, and the family of a well-known Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Giro, who recently passed away.
Shettima asserts that 50,000 hectares of land in Jigawa State will be utilized for the future initiative, according to a statement issued on Sunday by Olusola Abiola, the Director of Information in the Office of the Vice President.
He also mentioned that the Federal Government requires 10,000 hectares of land in Kebbi State for wheat cultivation.
Shettima promised that the government of President Bola Tinubu would deliver on all of its commitments to the people of Nigeria, especially those related to agriculture and the provision of adequate food supplies.
