There has been a huge outburst on social media especially on X formerly called Twitter following the update from the Lagos State Police Command that Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in their custody. He is currently assisting with an ongoing investigation.

According to popular X influencer Daniel Regha through his verified handle, “Sam Larry was seen harassing late Mohbad, a complaint was also filed against him by the deceased, But today he’s assisting the Nigerian police? Nonsense like this is why Naira Marley has the guts to be making demands. It’s not surprising tho, same Nigerian police did nothing when…”

Another X user with the handle @Razzy Nnaemeka wrote “Not even an arrest but an invitation for questioning.”

Affirming what X user with the handle @Razzy Nnaemeka said, another X user: @Richiekay Photography wrote, “He wasn’t arrested, he was there to assist the investigation.”

Being sarcastic, X user @Tiana, said, “They did not say arrest ooo, he’s there to assist as the detective that he is o.”

While X user @Olumide95026 asked “When was he arrested? Even the police didn’t use the word “arrest” where you take see hear say he was arrested?? Larry was called to go for site work in other to assist not arrested.”

Meanwhile, X user @Adebayo J. Idowu wrote “his wife and her family members too, make all of them show face.”

While @Ibrahim Giwa-Osagie stated that “Prosecution, if any, will be at the completion of the investigation. More people will be invited for questioning. The Police is aware that Nigerians are very keen to know the outcome.”
