Didier Drogba, a legend in his native Ivory Coast, calls the match between the Cote d’Ivoire Elephants and Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) “an exciting challenge.”

Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau were placed in Group A with the hosts, Ivory Coast.

The draw took place on Thursday night at the brand-new Parc des Expositions in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

 

It is a really difficult group, Drogba said to CAFonline following the draw. Of course, Nigeria is one of the favorites, so having them in our group will be an interesting test.

“However, we are prepared. This is the allure of an event like AFCON, so we’re willing to accept the challenge and let the top teams from this group and all the other groups advance.

Scheduled for January 13 and February 11, 2024, is the AFCON 2023.
