Russian officials at the highest levels have harshly denounced the Israeli airstrike on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza and called it a “war crime.”
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of the Russian Security Council, blamed the United States for the incident.
“The horrific attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip is clearly a war crime,” Medvedev stated early on Wednesday.
He said, “Those who cynically profit from wars in various nations and on other continents bear the ultimate responsibility for it. who carelessly allocate enormous sums of money for weapons, filling their military-industrial complex. who, the USA, wrongly claim to be on a global mission to defend democratic values.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova further criticized US policies regarding the Israeli assault on the hospital.
I am horrified by the news coming out of the Middle East and recall the often-repeated argument made by former US President Barack Obama that the globe is now much safer as a result of US action. Now that we can all see, how much,” remarked Zakharova.
More than 500 lives were tragically lost in the attack, which drew criticism and attention from all across the world.
