Speaking to the media shortly after the Supreme Court rejected the arguments of the opposing candidates, the President affirmed his election victory in February.

The 71-year-old Nigerian leader commended the Supreme Court, noting its strong commitment to the rule of law.

While reacting to the Supreme Court’s decision, Tinubu was flanked by loyalists such as Femi Gbajabiamila (Chief of Staff), Dapo Abiodun (governor of Ogun state), Nyesom Wike (minister of the federal capital territory, FCT), and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC)

“We understand the suffering of the country. You don’t need additional distractions to be able to concentrate on building a new economy for the people. And inclusive one for that matter.

“The judgement of the Supreme Court put a stop to shenanigans, put a stop to innuendos, put a stop to trials in the media and public space”, President Tinubu told the press.

President Tinubu also applauded the court, saying it “demonstrated indivisible commitment to the rule of law and humanity.”

He also stated that the Supreme Court was dedicated to “doing justice for all Nigerians, regardless of ethnic, religious, or other biases.”
