Three Brotherhood Alliance Launches Operation 1027 In Myanmar

A major operation against military outposts in northern Shan State, close to the Chinese border, has been started by the Three Brotherhood Alliance, which is made up of the Ta’Ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the Arakan Army (AA), and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).

Operation 1027 is a calculated action intended to undermine military authority, claim territory, and deal with a number of urgent problems, such as the internet fraud sector that has flourished in the area since the military takeover in 2021.

Tayzar San, a well-known activist who spearheaded the nation’s first protest against the coup, said, “Operation 1027 is a big moment for the Spring Revolution and makes it clear for the Myanmar people and those who stand on the side of truth that our revolution will win.”

“The balance of power has been significantly impacted by the Three Brotherhood Alliance’s active participation in the resistance movement against the junta. The revolution is becoming stronger,” he continued.

A notable target of Operation 1027 is the cyber-scamming industry that has flourished in autonomous militarized zones along Myanmar’s eastern border.

The industry has generated substantial profits for Chinese criminal groups working in collaboration with the Myanmar military and other armed entities.

The United Nations reported the trafficking of an estimated 120,000 people into this industry, exposing them to harsh conditions, including torture and sexual violence.

As the industry ensnares Chinese nationals as victims, the Chinese government has increased pressure on the Myanmar military to address the issue.

China’s involvement and the impact of the operation on the cyber-scamming industry remain crucial aspects of the evolving situation.
