Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has been urged by his detractors to accept that he is carrying out his duties and being open about them.
The advise is being given in light of the widespread public criticism that Governor Adeleke is receiving.
Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, stated as much during a Friday interview with reporters.
Adeleke claimed that Governor Adeleke’s administration was following a “open door” policy, which was evident at Ipade Imole when he gave a public explanation of how the N7 billion in infrastructure funding and the N2 billion in palliative funds that the Federal Government had given him would be distributed.
He scowled at opponents who preached against the flyovers, dual carriageways, schools, hospitals, and other projects included in the $100 billion infrastructure development plan, even though he insisted that the government welcomed constructive criticism from all sides.
Alimi urged them to rather provide alternative ideas that will develop the state aside from the ones being operated upon by the current administration.
He counseled any group that claim to be talking on behalf of the people to be sincere, eschew bias and be more concerned about the development and benefit to be derived by the people.
“Governor Adeleke is operating an open door policy. This was reflected during the Ipade Imole where he explained how the N2 billion palliative and N7 billion infrastructure finds received from the Federal Government would be disbursed.
“On the N100 billion Infrastructural Plan, the fund is to be generated by the state, and not funded by any financial institution.”
The Commissioner stated that money will be spent on particular initiatives dispersed throughout Osun State’s three senatorial districts.
Alimi praised the public feedback initiative on projects initiated by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s government, calling it outstanding.
Additionally, he emphasized that the state’s development in all its aspects is the government’s primary concern.
He emphasized that, as stated in the 2023 supplemental budget, the 100 billion naira infrastructure plan and other projects were approved by the Osun State House of Assembly after following the proper procedures.
