Speaking about his thoughts on Sunday’s match between Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, legendary Manchester United player Gary Neville has shared this.
With Chelsea hoping to capitalize on their 1-4 away victory over Tottenham in their previous game, the two Premier League heavyweights square off on Sunday in what is likely the match of the weekend in Europe.
With Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden, and standout scorer Erling Braut Haaland as their main players going into this match, City is in excellent form.
But it remains to be seen the strategy Mauricio Pochettino would deploy against his counterpart Pep Guardiola.
In his (Neville) statement he gave reasons why it could be a good game for Chelsea at home.
“I think Chelsea will do alright in the game. Chelsea in a couple of games I have seen at Stamford Bridge have done alright against big teams.
I think Chelsea will do a lot better than you’re thinking. [Raheem] Sterling, [Nicolas] Jackson, Cole Palmer. They have solidity in midfield,” Neville told The Overlap.
“They are a handful for big clubs at Stamford Bridge. They are better than they are obviously.
Sometimes they are just a waste of time. But against Arsenal they were really good, against Liverpool they were really good. I’ll go 1-1.
