Rapper Oladips has come under fire from Nigerian musician Portable for staging his death in order to promote his newly released record.
Online rumors started to circulate late on Wednesday night, claiming that Oladips was not dead and that his passing was staged as a publicity ploy for his new album, “Superhero Adugbo.”
The rapper’s friend and Nigerian musician Qdot posted a photo of the rapper on Instagram with the message, “My gee is still alive,” which sparked the rumor.
This occurs two days after his passing was declared on Instagram by the Olaidps’ management.
According to them, the rapper died after fighting a battle for two years.
Portable who reacted to the news in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) stated he would never promote an album by faking his death.
“Life never tire me ooo! Me I no go use my death promote my album o! Fans mi I wan drop my album celebrate me when I am still alive,
“I’m still alive. Celebrate me when I’m still alive, una no go post my RIP,” he said.
In the latter part of the video, the Zaazuu crooner announced that his 19-track album, ‘Anikuleti Street Don Jazzy’ would be released on Friday.
