With a goal in every half against the lowly African team Gambia, Ivory Coast won their second straight World Cup qualifier on the continent.
They resumed their winning ways after defeating Seychelles 9-0 in Abidjan last week. Christian Kouame gave them the lead in the first half of the match, making it 1-0.
And thanks to the skill of former Chelsea star Jeremie Boga, Franck Kessie, and Brighton winger Simon Adingraβwho recently scored against Ajax in the Europa Leagueβthe visitors were able to secure a 0-2 victory away against Gambia.
The second goal came in the 85th minute following a delightful effort from Seko Fofana.
With the 0-2 win over Gambia, Ivory Coast now have six points from a possible six and have scored a total of 9+2- 11 goals in two goals. An incredible feat at this stage and the highest on the African continent in the space of two games.
