Residents of Yola were alarmed when gunmen reportedly broke into the Adamawa State Police headquarters early on Wednesday.

Within the Yola North Local Government Area, the police station is located in the center of Jimeta Village.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the attack but asserted that everything was under control.

Nguroje claimed that the attempt was repelled, but it was unclear who was behind it.

According to the police, investigations were being conducted to identify the perpetrators and the cause of the incident.
