On Friday, Hassan Kolawole, 45, and Tijani Waheed, 51, were charged with possessing a human head and two human hands in an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan.
The two, whose home addresses were withheld, were accused of conspiring and of having illegally obtained human parts.
Insp. Segun Adegboye, the prosecutor, informed the court that the defendants were allegedly responsible for the crime on November 6, at 2:00 p.m., at No. 32 Mosebolatan Street, Ogbere Tioya, Ibadan.
Adegboye claimed that the two had taken human parts out of the body illegally with the intention of using them in a money ritual.
The Prosecutor also said that the duo improperly interfered and offered indignity to a dead human body for the purpose of preparing money ritual concoctions and charms.
He said the offences contravened Sections 516, 329A(1)(2) and 242(1)(b)(2) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendants however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, S. I. Babalola granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each and two sureties each in like sum.
She adjourned the case until Jan. 22, 2024, for hearing.
