Samuel Chukwueze has come off the bench to end Newcastle United’s Champions League adventure as AC Milan fought back from a goal down to win at St James’ Park.
The home side looked promising in the early exchanges as they took the lead in the 33rd minute of the match.
Lewis Miley set up Brazil’s Joelinton whose shot went into the roof of the net to give the Magpies a 1-0 lead in the match. It finished 1-0 at the break.
But the visitors would not relent in their pursuit in this match and they made it count as they got the equalizer when Olivier Giroud set up Christian Pulisic to bring the scores to 1-1. Pulisic goal came in the 59th minute.
But that was not all there was in the game as substitute Noah Okafor set up his teammate Samuel Chukwueze who curled the ball into the far left corner to make it 1-2 away from home.
That’s how it finished in favour of AC Milan though Rafael Leao hit the post in the second half for Milan.
