“Janare, who is been identified as a terror leading a gang of over 200 youths has on the 9th of November 2023 coordinated criminal activities that included blocking the road between Kano to Katsina road and some areas around Kurna Quarters, and extorted money from several innocent individuals, motorist and also rob and vandalize people’s property,” the statement read.“According to some victims’ accounts, his gang members engaged in demanding one thousand Naira from each victim being trapped and seeking passage. Janare’s action caused much hardship and apprehension among the members of the public.“Janare’s arrest was by a dedicated team from Anti-Daba Operatives led by SP Hussaini Gimba during an intelligence-led operation alongside seven (7) of his gang members; (1) Aminu Adamu, ‘m’, A.K.A Danye aged 19 years of Bachirawa Quarters, (2) Halifa Bashir, ‘m’, A.K.A Dan Halifa aged 20 years of Kwanar Ungogo Quarters, (3) Jamilu Mas’udu A.K.A Mai Niger, ‘m’, aged 21 years of Kwanar Ungogo Quarters, (4) Abubakar Surajo A.K.A Halifa, ‘m’, aged 24 years of Bachirawa Quarters, (5) Ahmad Surajo A.K.A Dandolo, ‘m’, aged 22 years of Bachirawa Quarters, (6) Muftahu Surajo, ‘m’, aged 20 years of Bacchirawa Quarters, (7) Ibrahim Surajo, A.K.A Abba, ‘m’, aged 18 years of Bachirawa Quarters, Kano.“During the operation, the following exhibits were recovered: (1) Two (2) Unregistered Motorcycles, (2) Three (3) Papalow Swords, (3) Four (4) Cutlasses, (4) Five (5) Parcels of Dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, (5) One Hundred and Thirty-five (135) pieces of exol tablets, (6) Ten (10) Sachets of Diazepam Tablets, One Hundred and Fifty (150) pieces of Rubber Solution,(Twenty-seven (27) potwin injection. The suspect will be charged in Court upon completion of the investigation.“The Commissioner of Police assures the public that the Command will remain committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all residents in Kano State.
