The quartet of Samuel Chukwueze, William Troost-Ekong, under fire Francis Uzoho and keyman Victor Osimhen are still expected.
According to the latest development, Wilfred Ndidi will be replaced by Alhassan Yusuf due to injury.
There’s also a chance for French Ligue 1 striker Terem Moffi to replace Kelechi Iheanacho as injury beckons on the Leicester City forward.
Nigeria’s opening game at the AFCON tournament is against Equatorial Guinea while Jose Peseiro and his side face up with Ivory Coast in the second group game.
