The Benue State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has promised to replace with immediate effect some of its officials planning to decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A statement in Makurdi on Wednesday, by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Bemgba Iortyom, said the party wishes them well in their continuing political foraging.

Iortyom noted that, Hon. Vincent Yandev Amaabai, a National Ex-officio, and Hon. Mbakorlumun James Chia, the State Vice-Chairman for Benue North-West Senatorial District, have been listed to be received into the ruling APC at a ceremony slated for Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Gboko Local Government Area of the State.

He said, “PDP understands that migration of politicians of a particular kind from the opposition to the ruling party has become a common feature of our politics, and sees nothing unusual about this current episode of it.

“The PDP will, in line with its laws, fill up their vacated positions with competent hands in the shortest time.

Sources quote the former Zonal Vice chairman of the PDP for Benue North West Senatorial District, Yandev Amaabai, as saying he was decamping for the first time in honour of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
