French star Kylian Mbappe netted twice as he steered his Paris Saint-Germain side to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Mbappe opened the scoring for the Parisians in the 15th minute courtesy of an assist from his French compatriot Ousmane Dembele.
Despite all attempts from both sides to get a goal in the first period, it wasn’t to be as it finished 1-0 in favour of Mbappe and his PSG side at half-time.
After the intermission, the visitors pressed for more goals and it was Mbappe who doubled his side’s advantage to make it 2-0 in the 56th minute following an assist from Lee Kang-in.
However, the home side Real Sociedad would respond with a goal of their own in the 89th minute as Mikel Merino scored a goal to reduce the deficit to 2-1 in the Champions League contest.
In the end, it finished 2-1 in favour of Paris Saint-Germain and 4-1 on aggregate score as PSG won 2-0 in the first leg in Paris.
