The Nigeria senior women’s national team, Super Falcons are ready for their first leg match against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa for the Paris 2024 Olympic final qualifiers.
CAF female Goalkeeper of the Year, Chiamaka Nnadozie, Osinachi Ohale, Uchenna Kanu, and Christy Ucheibe, are among the players who have arrived in Abuja.
Other players include Captain of the Super Falcons, Rasheedat Ajibade, Toni Payne, Deborah Abiodun, Gift Monday, Jennifer Echegini, Shukurat Oladapo, Chidinma Okeke, and Linda Jiwuaku, amongst others.
New call-ups include the goalkeeper for Saudi Arabia’s Women’s Premier League club Eastern Flames, Tochukwu Oluehi.
The Super Falcons would have to face the South Africans without the presence of Super Falcons and Al-Ittihad star defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, who has withdrawn from the forthcoming game because of an injury.
However, The Super Falcons have called up former Falconets defender, Jumoke Alani to take Plumptre’s position in the lineup.
The first leg of the Paris 2024 final qualifier between the Super Falcons and the Banyana Banyana of South Africa is scheduled for Friday, April 5, 2024, at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria.
The second leg of the match will be played on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in Pretoria, South Africa.
