Ekiti to begin construction of second flyover bridge

Construction work has commenced on the Okeyinmi-Ijigbo flyover bridge in Ado Ekiti with demolition of marked structures towards ensuring seamless execution of the project.

The State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun who made this known in Ado Ekiti, explained that the project was conceived to provide measures for controlling traffic congestion thereby making vehicular safe and convenient for both motorists and pedestrians.

 

Stressing that the long-term benefits of the project would outweigh any temporary inconvenience experienced during its construction, Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun urged residents to be patient and understanding towards achieving a timely delivery and good quality job.

 

He reiterated the commitment of Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration to the rapid development of the State and make life more meaningful for residents, stressing that the project was tailored to enhance socioeconomic activities and security in the State.

 

Olatunbosun said “we understand that construction projects can be disruptive, but we assure residents that every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience and ensure smooth traffic flow during this period.

 

“Alternate routes provided in place of the blocked road have been rehabilitated and ensured fit for heavier traffic flow and  I am assuring you that the construction of the flyover would be strictly monitored and supervised to ensure timely delivery and quality job.

 

“The flyover is expected to be completed within eighteen months, barring any unforeseen delays, once completed, it will provide a safe and efficient means of crossing the busy intersection, benefiting residents and commuters alike for years to come.

 

“We encourage residents to remain patient and understanding as we work to improve infrastructure and enhance safety in our community”.
