Euro 2024: Slovenia holds Denmark back with 1-1 draw

Christian Eriksen was the scorer of Denmark’s goal as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Slovenia at the Stuttgart Arena, Sunday evening.

The Manchester United midfielder was miraculously saved during Denmark’s game against Finland in their opening game of Euro 2021, when he slumped after suffering a heart attack.

An Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) was fitted into his system but he would later return to the game after spells at Brentford and now United.

Eriksen scored 17 minutes into the game on Sunday, firing into the bottom left corner after a smart flick-on from Jonas Wind.

Erksen was a standout performer as Denmark were dominant in the first half and created more chances to extend their lead.

However, Slovenia equalised when Erik Janza’s powerful effort flew past goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, with 13 minutes left.
