Nigerian singer, Victony has given credit to rapper, Olamide for playing a huge role in the release of his debut album, ‘Stubborn’.
Speaking as a guest on Channels Television, the singer said he was hugely motivated by the rapper to release his album as opposed to a previously planned EP.
When the host asked Victony why he gave Olamide credit on his album, he said, “Olamide is basically the reason I have an album. He encouraged me to go for it because, at the time, I wanted to put out a small body of work like an EP”.
“I didn’t think I was album-ready, that’s not what I had in mind. Just having to meet Olamide and him encouraging me, somebody at that level making time for people in my generation. I had to let people know that he was a part of everything that had to do with the album”.
Victony released his debut album titled ‘Stubborn’ on June 21, 2024. The album features artists like Asake, Saint JHN, Shallipopi, and others.
