Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has urged corps members posted to the State to be patriotic and always consider the unity of Nigeria over personal interests.
Biodun Oyebanji made this appeal during the swearing-in ceremony for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2024 Batch “B” Stream 1 orientation course at the Ise/Orun/Emure orientation camp.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Gold Adedayo, the Governor encouraged the corps members to adapt to their new environments, be security conscious, build foundations for impactful service, and address the challenges of unemployment, corruption and poverty.
He urged them to be proactive in addressing these issues, become catalysts for positive change, and work towards a more prosperous future for the nation.
The Governor recognized the corps members’ service and announced that the Ekiti State Government is dedicated to rewarding excellence among them during the service year.
He advised them to pursue excellence in all their endeavor assuring them that the government will provide the necessary support to address these issues.
The Governor stressed the commitment of his administration to improving infrastructure at the orientation camp and ensuring the effective functioning of the NYSC programme in the state.
Earlier in his welcome remarks the NYSC State Coordinator ,Alhaji Abdullah Riko commended the state government for providing adequate safety for the Corps members in the state.
He praised the corps members for the zeal, maturity, discipline, patriotism, and loyalty, demonstrated through their active participation in camp activities.
A total of 1318 Corp members were sworn-in during the ceremony.
