Nigeria’s Super Falcons dependable striker, Asisat Oshoala, believes Nigeria have the quality to win a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The Super Falcons, who are appearing at their fourth Olympics, are returning to the women’s football event for the first time since 2008.

Randy Waldrum’s ladies are drawn in a tough group with world champions Spain, Brazil, and former world champions Japan.

Despite the team’s pedigree in the group, Oshoala is optimistic that the nine-time African champions can reach the podium.

“I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have many young players, and we can make things difficult for our opponents,” Oshoala was quoted by FIFA.com.

“We don’t just think about getting out of the group, I think we can actually walk away with a medal.”

The Super Falcons will square up with Brazil in their opening Group C fixture at the Matmut Atlanque Stadium, Bordeaux, on Thursday.
