Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma has stated that the economic crisis in the nation cannot be resolved in a year.

This is coming as Nigerians storm the streets to protest against bad governance and hunger.

Governor Hope Uzodimma said it would take the collective support of citizens for government policies and programmes to build a strong nation.

“The economic challenges we face are complex and cannot be resolved within a year. However, with collective support and understanding, we can work towards sustainable solutions, navigate these trying times and emerge stronger as a nation,”
Uzodimma said.

Imo State governor said this on Wednesday, in a State Broadcast, in Owerri.

He explained that the ongoing hunger protest may be hijacked. He called on Imo State residents and citizens to shun the hunger protest.

“Our people should reconsider participating in the planned nationwide protest. Let me emphasize the potential dangers of hijacked protests, which could lead to unintended consequences, despite the legitimate right to peaceful protest,” he added.

Uzodimma said President Bola Tinubu deeply understands the sufferings of Nigerians.

He noted that the federal government has initiated numerous interventions and programmes to provide relief to citizens

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is deeply attuned to the plights of our citizens. He has initiated numerous interventions and programs aimed at providing immediate relief while laying the groundwork for long-term solutions.

“These efforts demonstrate the Government’s commitment to addressing our concerns and improving our collective well-being.

“Therefore, I urge all stakeholders to convey this message of patience and trust in the Government’s plans to their constituents,” he appealed.
