Ex Super Eagles star ‘reveals’ Chelsea as Osimhen’s next club

Former Super Eagles midfielder John Ogochukwu Ogu has hinted that current African Footballer of the Year holder, Victor Osimhen, will be playing for Chelsea after the transfer window comes to an end. 

There has been speculation about the next club for the SS Napoli star who emerged as the 8th best player at the Ballon D’ Or awards last year with the Blues, Arsenal, PSG and Saudi Arabian side, Al Hilal reportedly keen on the former Lille star. 

Ogu who has played in the Nigerian side with Osimhen seen to have an inside knowledge about the next destination of Osimhen going by his post on his X account on Thursday. 

“Osimhen to Chelsea…Here we Go,” Ogu had posted on his X account on Thursday.

The catchphrase “Here we Go” is used by Italian transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, to describe deals that are already on the cusp of completion. 

The post generated reactions from those who saw it and explains the influence of former Chelsea players like John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba who have vigorously tried to convince the former youth international to sign for the side coached by Enzo Maresca. 

Recent reports in the last 48 hours also indicated that Arsenal could go back in for the Nigerian despite the promise shown by Germany midfielder cum forward Kai Havertz.
