Super Eagles head coach, Bruno Labbadia, has named 23 players to prosecute the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda next month.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, in the early hours of Tuesday, announced the identity of the incoming coach whom they had revealed was already working on the players that will be honouring the September 7 and 10 fixtures.
The games will mark the return to the fold for the hitherto injured duo of William Troost-Ekong and Moses Simon, as well as Victor Osimhen.
The Eagles had been without a coach since the resignation of Finidi George who stepped down after the team’s draw and defeat to South Africa and Benin Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers back in June.
The players are expected to start arriving their Uyo camp between this weekend and Monday after their club games.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will hold in Morocco between December 2025 and January 2026 making it the first time in history that the tournament will be held across two concurring years.
