Suspected bandits raided zone A (the back of the primary school) in the Ushafa neighborhood of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Thursday night.
The attack by the bandits led to the killing of a man known as Mr. Felix Chuks and his whole family taken by the bandits.
According to AFRIPOST, the gunmen opened fire at midnight, storming the neighbourhood.
The aforementioned publication disclosed that attempts to contact the local vigilantes during the attack were unsuccessful since the men on duty were not returning calls, presumably as a result of the bandits’ intense firing.
Although the cause of the man’s death remains unknown, there are indications that he may have engaged in combat with the bandits.
The Ushafa Back of Primary School is infamous for its attacks; a similar incident occurred a few months back when bandits raided the region, murdering a man and kidnapping his pregnant wife and children.
Notably, since the last kidnapping, no arrests have been made.
As of the time of filing this report, there was an expanded Ushafa community gathering going on.
When contacted, DSP Adeh said she would find out from the DPO and revert
To discuss the present situation, an emergency meeting has been convened.
