The coach of the Scottish Premier League club Rangers, Phillippe Clement has again  showered encomiums on Nigeria professional footballer , Cyriel Dessers after another impressive display propelled the Gers to the maximum points against St Mirren.

After a decent performance during the week in Europe, the Nigerian International began Sunday’s game against St Mirren on the bench, but he came in with the game at 1-1.

He quickly made an impact and scored the winning goal to earn the Gers the three points.

“It was a good performance after a European night; we could have scored more than two goals, but the opponent’s goalkeeper was really strong, and with Cyriel, he was active,” Clement told journalists. “He showed a big heart on Thursday, and he did that again today; he loves the club and wants to give everything to get results; as a striker, he not only scores but also helps the team by providing assists”.

The second goal shows the hunger and passion Cyriel has to win games, and he gives everything for that, I’m really happy”.

“The way he came into the pitch is what I expected from every player who comes on, to give us that extra energy and that needs to be our strength in a couple of months.”

The home win kept Rangers in touching distance of Celtic and Aberdeen who currently occupy the first and the second spots.
