The Centre for Human Capacity Development, a visionary initiative by Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim, recently concluded its first-ever 10-day ICT Skills Acquisition and Character Development Training for teenagers. This milestone program, conducted free of charge, underscored a commitment to youth empowerment, capacity building, and value-based learning.

From December 18th to 28th 2024, over 45 teenagers aged 14 to 19 gathered for an intensive learning experience that combined ICT training with life-skills development.
The program provided participants with free transportation, feeding, writing materials, and access to skilled resource persons. Students learned to create websites, explore multiple streams of income, and develop critical character traits, leaving them equipped to navigate a rapidly evolving digital world.

Highlights of the Training
The program included a meticulously planned timetable that ensured a balance between ICT training and personal development. Key sessions featured:
~ Self-awareness and Discovery: Led by Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim and Miss Zahira Ahmed, these sessions encouraged students to reflect on their potentials and unlock their capabilities.
~ Character Development: Delivered by experts like Mrs. Sa’adatu Ibrahim and Engineer Awwal Bisallah, these workshops emphasized discipline, empathy, and integrity as cornerstones of personal growth.


~ ICT Skills: Guided by the ICT team, students received hands-on computer training that culminated in building fully functional websites.
~ Content Creation and Career Opportunities in ICT: Pastor Mr. Ademola, one of the resource persons, delivered a highly engaging session on career opportunities in the ICT world and content creation. His session opened the students’ eyes to the vast potential of technology, guiding them on how to leverage computers to create, innovate, and explore amazing possibilities. It left a lasting impact, shaping their understanding of the digital landscape and inspiring them to think beyond conventional career paths.
~ Value Creation and Critical Thinking: Sessions led by industry professionals such as Engineer Awwal Bisallah, Miss Fatima Adamu and General MT Abdullahi explored innovation, decision-making, and adaptability in a dynamic world.

~ Public Speaking and Group Work: These exercises honed the participants’ communication skills and fostered collaboration.

Impactful Outcomes
The program’s impact was both immediate and far-reaching. By the end of the 10 days, participants not only showcased websites they built but also gained a deeper understanding of income generation, problem-solving, and value addition. Parents were visibly proud of the transformation in their children, praising the program for its positive influence.
