Nigerian filmmaker, actress, director, Funke Akindele has spoken out amidst the controversy surrounding cinemas.

In a New Year post, Akindele expressed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support, which has contributed to the movie’s success.

The actress also acknowledged and thanked her colleagues who participated in the meet-and-greet event of her film ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’.

As she looked ahead to the New Year, Akindele urged fans to remain focused and ignore negative criticism.

Akindele’s statement comes after reports emerged of cinemas allegedly favouring some films over others.
