Nepotism and prejudice are two sides of the same coin, both fueled by favoritism and fear of ‘the other.’ In Nigeria, the North often finds itself caught in a web of misunderstanding—facing bias from others while grappling with its own internal prejudices.
Why must merit take a backseat to family names and tribal affiliations? Why must opportunities be denied because of where someone comes from? A united Nigeria can only rise when we stop seeing regions and start seeing people. Let’s break the cycle—no to nepotism, no to prejudice, and yes to fairness for all.
