Nigeria’s former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has observed that the Islamic militant group Boko Haram still remains a big threat to Nigeria’s security even as the government believes that the group has been technically defeated.

 

Atiku’s media office said it was despicable to see young girls used as suicide bombers as condemned the groups recent mode of destruction in which they target soft targets.

“We need our girls to be mothers, teachers and scientists of the future, certainly not being used to carry out extremist ideologies.

 

“We are all in this together. We must work closely with security operatives on ground to make sure that our land is secure and our lives are safe. The threat that we face is real and our determination to face the threat must be daring,” he said.
