Tottenham’s head coach, Antonio Conte, has decided to stay in Italy following their 1-0 loss to AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.

According to a statement released by the club, Conte underwent a routine checkup in Italy on Wednesday after his recent gallbladder surgery and will remain at his family home to recover fully.

The statement emphasized the importance of Conte’s health, and the club wished him a speedy recovery.

This decision means that Cristian Stellini, Conte’s assistant, will take charge of the team once again, as he did during Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Manchester City 11 days ago.

Conte returned to the dugout for last weekend’s fixture against Leicester City, which ended in a disappointing 4-1 defeat for Tottenham. As things stand, Tottenham currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League table.
