In an exciting match, Morocco achieved a historic first -ever victory over Brazil in a friendly match on Saturday which ended 2-1 in Tangier
Moroccan midfielder Sofiane Boufal opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a powerful turn and drive, before Brazil captain Casemiro levelled the score in the 67th minute.
However, on-loan Sampdoria midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri scored the winner with a volley in the 79th minute.
The win shows that Morocco’s achievement of becoming the first African or Arab team to reach the World Cup semifinals last year was not a fluke.
Neymar was absent from the Brazilian side due to injury, and Brazil fielded a team with only 10 of the 23-man squad that played in the World Cup.
Before the match, both teams paid tribute to the late Pele, who passed away last December at the age of 82.
